Grant Types and Application Process- Low-Economy Grants. Students and new researchers (post-docs who have received their doctorate after 1 January 2004) from low economy countries (as listed in the AGU list of countries of low-income economies).
- International Student Grants. Any delegate who was a student as of 1 January 2007.
Applicants were required to submit a package by mail to the Geochemical Society Business Office that included: - a current CV (CV had to include the applicant's email address and date of birth)
- a copy of the applicant's submitted 2007 Goldschmidt abstract and assigned abstract number
- a one page description of the broader impacts and significance of the applicant's research, and
- a brief budget justification that includes which grant the applicant were applying for (Low-Economy or International Student), a description of their financial need, and availability of travel support from other sources.
Applications were received, converted to PDF files and posted on a secure website based upon the type of geochemistry (high-temperature or low-temperature).
