Elements Magazine

Elements Magazine is a bi-monthly (6 issues/yr) publication of the Geochemical Society and several associated societies.

Every issue explores a theme of broad and current interest in the mineral and geochemical sciences as well as regular features like a calendar of events, short course announcements, highlights of groundbreaking papers, awards, conference reports, policy news, and news of the Societies. Elements publishes invited peer-reviewed invited papers for its thematic collection of papers.

All Geochemical Society members receive a hardcopy subscription and online access to Elements Magazine as part of their membership.

Online access and back issues are available online on the Elements Magazine website.

Elements Magazine Back Issue Policy

Society membership includes a calendar year subscription to Elements Magazine. However back issues will not be sent automatically for those members who are joining mid-year, but must be requested by email from the business office at gsoffice@geochemsoc.org. The business office will also fill missing/damaged issue requests from Geochemical Society members.

Reasoning for this policy

The factors that went into choosing this policy include:

1. New/renewing members may already have a subscription to Elements through one of the other sponsoring societies and may not require a back issue.
2. Back issues are already available to members online at www.elementsmagazine.org.
3. There are only a limited number of printed back issues available.
4. The shipping cost to send individual back issues is significantly higher than when sent at the time of release.
