Governance

The Geochemical Society is governed by a body of eleven officers and six directors.

President Cycle is a six-year term consisting of three two-year term positions: Vice-President, President, and Past-President.

President leads the Board of Directors. Also serves on the Goldschmidt Forum, the Joint Publications Committee and the Geochemical Fellows Selection Committee.

Vice-President appoints volunteers for committee positions. Also serves on the Goldschmidt Forum.

Past-President provides corporate memory to the organization

Treasurer administers the society's finances including tax reporting and creating an annual budget for Board approval.

Secretary manages Board communications and reports the Board minutes.

International Secretary provides information on geochemical conferences and initiatives outside of Europe and North America.

OGD Chairman leads the Executive Committee of the Organic Geochemistry Division.

OGD Secretary manages Organic Geochemistry Division communications and reports committee minutes.

GCA Executive Editor provides editorial leadership of Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta. Also serves on the Joint Publications Committee.

Special Publications Editor provides editorial leadership of the Special Publications Series and collaborates with MSA for the Reviews in Mineralogy and Geochemistry Series. Also severs on the Joint Publications Committee.

Geochemical News Editor provides editorial leadership of the Geochemical Society's newsletter

Directors (6) provide regional guidance and perspective to the Board.
