GS-EAG Outreach Program

The GS-EAG Outreach Program is a partnership between the Geochemical Society and the European Association of Geochemistry with the directive of developing outreach activities in geochemistry in under-represented regions of the world.

2018 Outreach Program to Africa

As part of the 2018 Outreach Program to Africa, the Geochemical Society (GS) and the European Association of Geochemistry (EAG) are co-sponsoring the Africa Initiative for Planetary and Space Sciences, whose objectives are to:

  • Connect African Planetary and Space Scientists with their international peers;
  • Build a road map for Planetary and Space Sciences in Africa, by identifying key research areas where African scientists can make significant contributions;
  • Solicit sponsors to support the development of this research domain in Africa;
  • Contribute to sustainable development in Africa through research, education, and public outreach in Planetary and Space sciences.

Call for workshops now open

As part of this initiative, two workshops will be organised and financially supported by EAG and GS. The call for workshops is now open and the deadline for submission of proposals is 1 June 2018.

The objective of this call for proposals is to strengthen the African vision for developing Planetary and Space Sciences at the local, national, or regional scale. Proposals are invited for the organization of two 4-day workshops in 2018, to involve African researchers and international participants. Find out more.
